LADOGA BY SNOWMOBILE

 

Enjoy snowmobiling on the largest lake of Europe! Lake Ladoga is a unique ecosystem of exceptional beauty that unites picturesque landscapes of the Ladoga skerries, outstanding architecture of the Valaam Monastery and crispy fresh air.

Duration: 3 days/ 2 nights

 

Day 1

Arrival to Moscow. City tour, transfer to the train station, taking overnight train to Lodeynoye Pole.

Day 2

Arrival at Lodeynoye Pole by train # 18 from Moscow. Meeting with the guide. Transfer to the tourist complex Lamberg (250 km). Breakfast.

After breakfast, we take you through snowmobile safety instructions, do a riding briefing and equip you with boots, a special snowmobile suit and helmet.
Now it is time for our snowmobile adventure to begin! Today we will cover the distance of 60 km and plunge into the idyllic winter landscapes and the thrill of speed.

Starting on the territory of the tourist complex we drive across the lake passing by picturesque rocky isles of Lake Ladoga. Tea with sandwiches on the way.

After we return to the tourist complex a substantial dinner will be waiting for us in the restaurant.

Day 3

After breakfast we head to the real pearl of Lake Ladoga which is the Valaam Monastery. "Mount Athos of the North" - so is often called the ancient orthodox monastery on Valaam Island which has always been an indispensable religious and cultural center of the Russian North.The heart of Valaam is its magnificent monastery complex founded in 992. Upon arrival a local guide will acquaint us with the central monastery complex.

Tea with sandwiches on the way. Total distance of the day 100 km.

Hot and delicious dinner at the reaturant of the tourist complex.

Day 4

Breakfast. Today we cover the distance of 90 km to visit the famous Ruskeala Marble Canyon which is not only a sight of rare beauty but also a monument of industrial history of four nations - Karelians, Swedes, Russians and Finns. Ruskeala marble was used to decorate churches and palaces of St.Petersburg and fountains of Petrodvorets.  Tea with sandwiches on the way. Transfer to the railway station of Lodeynoye Pole (250 km).

Departure to Moscow by train # 17.

Day 5

Arrival to Moscow. Transfer to the hotel or airport.

  

Price includes: accommodation and meals according to the program, transfers, snowmobile and snowmobile equipment rent, entrance tickets, guide services, train tickets in 4 persons compartment.

 

Snowmobile equipment:
Snowmobile «Yamaha VK-540 III».
Warm windproof overalls, snowmobile helmet, balaclava, snowmobile shoes and gloves.

 

What to take with you:
Backpack, comfortable clothes: pants, warm sweater, 2 pairs of woolen socks, 2-3 pairs of cotton socks, T-shirts, warm jacket, woolen hat, gloves, warm comfortable shoes.
