Lufthansa will be flying to Vnukovo21.11.2011 |
The German carrier Lufthansa will launch 14 new flights to Moscow next summer. All of them will land in Vnukovo airport. The company will add those flights to the ones that already carried to tMoscow's Domodedovo airport.
- Two of the new flights will connect the Russian capital with Frankfurt - the main Lufthansa's hub and 12 others will be flying from Berlin's new airport 'Willy Brandt'. In the future the number of flights between two capitals may reach 26 per week in the high season.
- Currently Vnukovo is the fast groing air traffic hub that is competing with the other two major Moscow's airports - Sheremet'evo and Domodedovo for the major airlines. The representative of Lufthansa has said that Vnukovo has been chosen due to it's convenient location and transport links with the city. Next year Vnukovo will complete the reconstruction of its main runaway, that will allow Vnukovo to host all types aircraft that are being currently used in the world, including the largest ones.
