Novorossiysk is looking into the tourist future

The authorities of the Russian town of Novorossiysk have developed a program that will turn this Black Sea port into mid-range seaside resort. According to the program 15 km seashore strip next to the town will be converted into tourist and recreation zone. The authorities of Novorossiysk aiming to double the number of tourists from current 400 thousand a year. As a resort Novorossiysk can not compete with more famous and popular Black Sea locations like Sochi and aims more toward mid-range and business class tourism. Among the advantages of the town are excellent transport connections with the other Russian regions and Black Sea ports.
