The restaurant is located in the former Garden Pavilion, a part of the architectural ensemble of the Palace built by Vallen de la Motte in 1751 for the Yussupovs, the most influential and richest family of the tsarist Russia.

It is known as a fashionable and aristocratic place with luxurious yet cozy interior and exquisite Russian and European dishes. It is very difficult not to feel yourself very important when tasting "fried Bandol Pigeon served with fruit-mint kus-kus and sauce of sea-buckthorn berries"(or something alike!).
For the restaurant is only a 10- minute walk from the renowned Mariinsky theatre, the ballet-lovers used to end the evening here by a candle-lit dinner.
