The Morozov Palace
The palace was erected in the late 19th century by the architect V. Mazyrin. Arsene Morozov was enchanted by medieval Spanish architecture while traveling through Europe and after his return to Russia built a Moorish style castle in the heart of Moscow. The fancy turrets, open-work stone lace and huge sea shells on the facade of the structure were absolutely foreign to Russian architecture. The palace is famous for its rich eclectic decor. The Oak Room is a sample of Medieval style, the Golden Room was designed in Empire style, the Moorish style adds to the private atmosphere of the Marble Room. The White Hall decorated in classic style allows to direct performances during the functions. The palace is an ideal place for private functions.
