Once the estate of the Sheremetyev family, it dates from the 1770s. The architectural ensemble  was created by Sheremetyev's serfs Argunov, Mironov, and Dikushin , and it includes the palace, the Church of the Savior not made by hand, the Hermitage, the 'Italian' house,  the 'Dutch' house, the 'Greenhouse', and the baroque 'Grotto'.
The park is decorated with many statues.
