The Palace was built by the architect Rezanov in 1864 -72 for the Grand Duke Vladimir, the son of Alexander II. Its stylized Florentine palazzo facade faces the Neva river. The exquisite and opulent interiors designed in various styles have been preserved intact, though several renovations took place in the Palace. It is now used as an elite club of the members of the Russian Academy of Sciences (hence comes the name) and the venue of international conferences, seminars and meetings. | Room name | Theater
